William Schuth, a native of the Driftless Area, grew up in small communities on both banks of the upper Mississippi River. A failed pâtissier, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2002. William is an Iraq War veteran who has completed & not completed history programs at the undergraduate & graduate level (respectively). He is composing two collections of poems that weave fatherhood, loss, and complicity in the Global War on Terror across the deserts of Iraq, Kuwait, and the American Southwest into the bluffs and river valleys of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
